One of the more interesting things your company (and you) should be doing is tracking your competition’s marketing strategy, and the execution of it. You’re crazy not to.
Jim Joseph has done a good job of spelling out the things you can do legally, such as web site observation, getting their emails and other direct promotions, mystery shopping and observing what they do on their social media.
Jim doesn’t mention the use of some their meta tags on your web site, which is frequently done….they’re really out there in the public domain, and not protected by copyrights. We’ll let you determine how you feel ethically about this practice.
