43% of Businesses Spend 6+ Hours Per Week in Social Media

Pamela Vaughn, writing in the HubSpot Blog, came up with this interesting statistic: 43% of small business spend 6 hours a week on social media.

It’s interesting, because we haven’t seen any stats on this yet from anyone.  Most business owners are either doing the social media, or they’re assigning one of their people to do it.

It’s also interesting that Pamela says that 90% of small businesses are using Facebook and 70% Twitter, but there’s no mention of blogs and Linked in, which we think are superior for B2B customer relations. Yeah, we’re fixing our Linked In link….it seems to have gone away when we put in Askimet anti-spam software.

We would tend to agree that Facebook and Twitter are fine for retailers and those going B2C, but Linked in and blogs are better for B2B.

But, we do recommend that you read Pamela’s article, because it’s good perspective: http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/33776/43
