Pretty Good Privacy

With the current commotion regarding privacy in one’s personal and business communications, we thought we’d pass a long a cool little piece of software that allows you to encrypt emails and voice transmissions. Of course, your recipient has to have the same software, but it’s easy to use.

It is called Pretty Good Privacy.

It looks like it’s downloadable, at least on your desktop. To go encrypted, one just pushes a little icon on the toolbar, from the software.

I’m sure a dedicated hacker could probably break the encryption, but by and large, we’d say that you’ll get 99% security. A hacker would have to be pretty dedicated to go beyond this encryption, we’d think.

Very useful for communications with key suppliers. The terrorists probably already know about it, and I’m sure the NSA does, too.
