Best Buy Entry into IT Support

We’re not sure how many of you readers might be affected, but there was an article in the Wall Street Journal about Best Buy buying a company that specializes in IT network support for small and medium sized businesses. The company does remote support, apparently The idea is to augment the Geek Squad’s offering in computer repair. We think it’s an interesting move; we now use a remote provider for this sort of thing, and it works fine. We applaud BB for doing this, but they may have to upgrade their customer support for instore locations; our experience is that Geek Squard misses a bunch of problems, but does get some things right, and they work at it until it is right.
