It seems Art is saying that leaders should use something like situational leadership: there are times to firm, times to listen more, and so forth.\u00a0There are no times to yell and scream at your direct reports, though.<\/p>\n
It’s a fine line, leadership. Too firm and people think you’re authoritarian. Listen too much with no comment or clear direction, and your troops will think you’re to passive.<\/p>\n
And, where does passion fit in? I’ve know leaders who were passionate about something who would practically jump on tables and rant away, when normally they were pretty well balanced.<\/p>\n
