This is one of those ideas that seems intuitively obvious: an insurance company for freelancers.<\/p>\n

It’s called “Freelancers Insurance Company” and was started in 2009, to provide health insurance to freelancers. Otherwise known as the 1099 crowd.<\/p>\n

We don’t know much about it, other than it raised some v.c. money, is approaching $100 million in revenues and is profitable.<\/p>\n
