Bravo to Scott Gerber, the co-founder of Young Entrepreneurs Council (YEC) and co-founder of Gen Y Capital, for telling it like it is: the degrees in many liberal arts colleges are useless.\u00a0 He likes Babson, practically the fount of academic entrepreneurial education, and he’s a big fan of ‘useful’ education, such as entrepreneurship, law, or engineering.<\/p>\n
In fact, over 50% of students start side businesses while in college, even presumably the liberal arts colleges. And these schools don’t offer any training in entrepreneurship. Hey! we’re here! We’re not accredited, but we’re effective!<\/p>\n
Maybe a few academic advisors at the liberal arts colleges\u00a0who have entrepreneurial students will find us and send a few students over.<\/p>\n
I can’t believe that The Atlantic, of all magazines, published this article….it’s short, it’s not at all in their tradition of articles, wow.<\/p>\n
